About the Project
My Recovery Plan was built by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Mental Health Services in partnership with the Point Centre VA Clinic in Chattanooga, Tennessee as part of a coordinated public health initiative to help Veterans and Service Members who are having difficulties. This free program is based on a highly effective prevention and recovery planning program that has been used successfully with Veterans across the country.
My Recovery Plan is intended for use with a peer support specialist. Peer support specialist are Veterans trained to help other Veterans by teaching and modeling skills that help recovery and community integration to improve their quality of life.

- VA Office of Mental Health & Suicide Prevention aims to insure that all Veterans have access to needed mental health care and advances the principle that mental health care is an essential component of overall health care.
- Point Centre VA Clinic provides Veterans with timely and quality mental health, homeless program, telehealth, optical, vocational rehabilitation, and peer support services.
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nations. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.
- Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) Vocational Rehabilitation Program helps Veterans with physical and mental health challenges in obtaining meaningful and competitive employment.
- Peer Support Services are Veterans trained to help other Veterans by teaching and modeling skills that help recovery and community integration to improve their quality of life..
- VA National Center for PTSD is the world's leading research and educational center of excellence on PTSD and traumatic stress.
